Quinta Do Eco nestles in a valley, in its own private Nature Reserve, surrounded by cork oaks, olive and pine trees, rock roses and hardy lavender grow profusely on the sloping valley walls. In the centre of Portugal where wild boar and birds of prey are still very common… You can relax in the middle of nature, without any noise from cars, lorries, factories or the normal buzz of everyday life. Enjoy a nice meal, a drink, a cosy chat, a book, the sun, a hammock … sit on the terrace or swim lazily in our large salt water pool. Drift off to sleep to the chorus of often loud and raucous but oddly soothing frog song, and wake up to the light of the sunrise and the sound of birdsong and crickets chirping…Take beautiful walks or bike rides through the valleys along field paths, over the hills, with beautiful fauna and flora and endless views.
With minimal light pollution the sky at night is a canopy of brilliant bright lights. However we are only a 3 min drive from the hamlet of São João do Peso with its traditional Portuguese cafe and large beautiful church, a 6 min drive from the village of Cardigos with its two Portuguese supermarkets and a number of restaurants, cafes and bars as well as its famous river beach. We are also equidistant from the towns of Sertá and Vila de Rei.
This is a water-rich area with many spectacular waterfalls to discover, nature walks and river beaches, not forgetting the water sports and swimming at the river Zezere- Fernandaires is a 20 min drive away. The nearest river beach to us is called Pego das Cancelas and hosts the KayaShanti Beach Café with live bands playing weekly , fabulous food and a beautiful shady beach. We are 35 minutes away from the Templar city of Tomar, an hour from the beautiful University city of Coimbra and an hour and a half from Lisbon and Porto.
We also have a large (18m) salt water pool for relaxing in during the heat of the day.
There are a number of food options at Quinta Do Eco, including an outdoor kitchen facility and private terrace for self catering. There is also a traditional Portuguese barbecue and a simple self catering kitchen with seating area. We have private parking on site.
Quinta Do Eco has its own dedicated fibre broadband internet connection running at 1Gbps into the property.
